i believe that abortion is only acceptable when the person has been raped. if i8t was their own chioce to have sex with a guy then they should put up with the concequence. but of course if youre raped then its not your choice and you wont want to have a baby that reminds you of things like that. the baby would most likely be unloved and deprived

abortion should be allowed. many of the people who have abortions do it for the right reasons eg; they may not be able to support the baby finacialy. This may lead to the child not having an acceptable child hood POSSIBLY driving them to a life of crime where we would have to put them in taxpayer funded jail. It is not an easy desision to have an abortion and we're sure that no one takes this lightly
The only person who should EVER have the right to decide the future of a baby is the mother. While I believe that both parents should have a say, ultimately it is the mother who decides the fate of the child she may/may not give birth to. No politician has the right to strip women of their freedom of choice in this matter. Especially since abortion will not only dictate the life (or lack of) of the baby but also the future of the mother.
i would say that abortion should no be allowed!! it is killing innocent babies and it is a very violent death, in a most in-human way. god gives life to all and only he has the right to take it!!! there is always something good that comes out of the bad! for example if you wer raped..something as good as having a child (a wonderful gift) does cum out if the bad situation!
i still cannot come to a personal desicion about my opinion on abortion.
There are so many different circumstances, lifestyles, injustices and immoralities that I could not agree with one law.
All I can say is it should be up to the mother. I agree with c ferguson, that women should have freedom of choice in this matter.
The abortion pill is bringing controversy, but if no abortion was allowed at all, what would people say?
i think abortion shouldn't be permitted because it is killing a person imagine every day waking up and thinking you killed your own baby!
i think it should be up to the person coz its their descision because they r the ones who is going to have live with that descision for the rest of their lives
abortaion should not be permitted...the person who had this baby should take responsability it was there fault this baby happened and they should take it...abortion is basically taking someones life but before u even know them..
There are new laws that people are trying to pass that an abortion can take place at any stage of pregnancy and even 3 months after birth!
This is awful! There is a LIVING human who feels real pain and the only reason it is thought to be so acceptable is because it cannot speak for itself
God has brought this baby here and he is the only one that can take it away.
I'm pro-abortion (Or pro-choice, if everyone is going to call me anti-life). A fetus is not nearly as developed as a pig, which can show the intelligence of an average 3 year old, and yet, pigs are slaughtered without thought or care every day, and yet people are worried about killing something that is comparable to a bacterium. I compare abortion to swatting a mosquito that is drinking blood from your arm. It's living off your body and it needs you, but if you don't want it or care for it, you can just kill it. A female has a right to do whatever she wants with her body, anyway, and if she doesn't want to endure the pain of child birth, then she has a right not to. Most abortions would take place at a stage where the fetus is not developed enough to feel pain, anyway. Most arguments against abortion generally involve life being a gift from God or the killing of an innocent human, so I've never seen any solid proof against abortion.
P.VAnn you just can't compare us to animals and insects. We eat animals (well i don't really like pork much) without them we wouldn't live just like a baby in it's mothers tummy.
If we put this baby up for abortion then we are killing a human soul just like where going to hang Saddam Hussein but we are never going to know this person.
Maybe this baby could be the change of the future maybe this baby could find a cure for cancer or any other diseases.
But we would never know, would we?
Why can't I compare humans to animals? After all, humans are just animals with a higher level of consciousness. Are you saying that dolphins aren't mammals because they have a higher level of consciousness than rats?

Believe it or not, vegetarians aren't just imaginary characters made up to anger the meat eating majority. They don't eat meat, and they live.
And the same statement about killing a baby that could change the world could be made about the more than six billion people who are currently alive and contribute next to nothing to the world and yet take as much as they can from it.
It's not killing a human soul. Humans don't have souls. They're just a myth invented to calm people who fear death and desire a way to escape it. We're just a series of complex chemical reactions.

I would like to take you up further regarding your last comment that humans do not have souls. And the rather interesting statement that we are a series of complex chemical reactions.
Would you care to elaborate and explain these two statements with a little more detail?
Humans fear death. That fact is for certain. We fear that, despite all that we can achieve in life, all that we can create, all that we can love, it can not protect us from the inevitable. And, in order to quell our fears, we invent a method by which we can escape death. Escape our fears of the inevitable. We understand that our bodies remain when we die, but we feel that if something more than the body exists, there is hope. Hope that we will not truly die. Because of this, we invent a concept by which something rules the body that can not be seen, but which can survive independent of our mortal body and survive its death. We invent souls.
But do souls truly exist? At the time when they were first invented, science was at its most basic, barely invented. We could not prove nor disprove the existance of souls, as we did not understand enough about the human body. And certainly, the church did not appreciate any attempts to disrupt the level of control that they held over people, so they labelled any attempts to understand the human body at a level that could disprove the idea of a soul as herecy, and punishable by death. Hence, the idea of a soul has been an idea seemingly programmed into people as they accept that it has always been there and always will be. However, science is no longer herecy, nor immoral. We can now perform dissections and scans of the human body and understand what is truly occurring within us. We know that we are born from a reaction of chemicals between sperm and female eggs. We know what determines which gender we are born as, and we know what determines how we grow to appear the way that we do. We furthermore can understand chemical reactions between brain cells to create our thoughts. We understand how our experiences are stored in our brains and how we remember past incidences and apply what we have learnt from them to new situations. We understand how our genes affect our physical growth. There is evidence that renders the idea of a soul obsolete because we can prove that what some claim a soul does is actually caused by our body and the chemical reactions within it. This is comparable to how ancients believed that thunder was the sound of gods clashing, and that witches were the cause of failed crops. However, these are simply examples of how, in the absence of logic and proof, we adopt the belief that it can't simply be that we can't understand it, and that supernatural powers must be at work. We look at the people who thought about these things years ago as superstitious beings who couldn't think logically. There's a large chance that in years to come, generations will think of the concept of a soul in the same terms. Give me proof of the existance of the soul. Can't do it? Well, on the other hand, there is physical proof of how the body actually works. Proof and logic versus superstition? Not a very tough battle.
Yes only if the baby is going to have a life time problem that is going to make there life miserable.
But no if they just want to because friends told them to.
Yes and no because it depends on your decision. You might want the baby or you don't want the baby
i think abortions are ok if you dont wont the baby but if you just wont ot kill it it is not aloud to be done i think you should have to be asked why you wont to have an abourtion if you wont to kill the baby you should be made to have it and then you can adopte the chil ensdet of killing it.
I agree with c jetson. Abortion should be an option for those who are too young and / or have been raped and can't keep the baby. But for older people, they should take responsibility for themselves. People shouldn't be having abortions if they have links to protection. Abortion is unfair and sad. You should think about it as : getting rid of someone's life
