Do we rely too much on technology?
A funny story was sent to me recently that made me question how much we put our trust in technology ...
A German motorist followed the command "Turn right now!" from his (GPS) navigation system and crashed into a small toilet hut by the side of the road — about 30 metres before the crossing he was meant to take.
The overly obedient 53-year-old from Freiburg drove his sport utility vehicle off the road onto into a building site, up a stairway and into the small toilet shack.
It caused $3300 worth of damage to the stairway, $165 damage to his car, and he was also fined $60.
Mmmm ... this man learnt the hard way that letting technology think for him has its dangers!!

Hmm, I would have to say that we do rely on technology a bit to much. If you think about it, we dont do much for ourselves. Most of us have a dishwasher in our kitchen (my grandparents even have one), so we end up useing that insted of washing the dishes by hand. We use car navigators to tell us were to go, type things up on the computer insted of by hand and so on. I think that story about the driver in Germany is kinda funny. He wasnt focusing and he relied on his car to tell him were to go.
Well I don't think that we use too much technology, but we are getting more advanced with what we use. Technology doesn't do every thing for us, only the simple but tiring jobs and help us with answers. However, I also believe that people abuse the use of technology. For example people will use a calculator for working out just the simplest of things just because they cant be bothered working it out for themselves.. but within a few years I do believe that technology will do all the hard jobs and every hard job for us. A Metratonic engineer said by the year 2009 simple house hold robots will be there to do all of the house hold work, so that we don't have to put an effort to do anything. This makes it easier on me so I don't really think that its too much technology.
I think we do rely to much on technology and one day not be able to do anything ourselves!!!
we do rely on to much technology, it makes me think that people are stupid and they need the help of a divice that knows every thing but what happens if the divice that you used runs on battery if the battery runs out and u need it and you dont have any batterys and they dont sell the batterys any more what would you do
i think sometimes we do rely on technology a bit to much like with i pods/phones we rely on them to give us answers to things like an 8 ball! or music we havnt got. we rely on them to give us digital time because we dont know how to read anolog we rely on computers to give us good accomodation but they dont always give us what we want!!! what happens when its all gone no cars to help us travel or direct us where to go no phones to call someone if where lost.....
i don't really think there is a straight answer to this because you can rely too much on techonology but it's also really fun!
No, i do not think we are. techno is cool. i like ipods and computers. they are cooligans.

i belive we do rely on tecnology way to much. I mean were on a computer right now! Since Tomas Edeson invented the light glob are tecnology has just gone up. I mean if tomas edeson was so smart to invent the light glob he should of known that it would be a link to global warming.
