Should we ban the keeping of animals in zoos?

well i think its ok as long as they have a big enough cage and their environment changes every so often
t giles i agree. i think that some of the animals do like being there. they get attention, food, water and company. but i do agree some of them arent treated right, as in the cages are sometimes to small and they dont get enough food sometimes .

i dont think that keeping animals in zoos should be banned. if we were to let them out then they wouldnt know wat to do in the wild, alot of the animals have been born in the zoos, so they would just end up getting killed by other animals. animals in zoos are protected, alot of animals have been hunted by poachers.
i've been to the zoo heaps of times and they seem to love it there, they get fed and looked after and they get to hand around with the other animals.
oh goodness another blog site thing with 2 sides.... yes because out in the wild they sometimes can't care for them selves and most animals are protected species thats why they are in zoo's so they can reproduce and not become a protected species. No because yes some do have a rather small cage...and how would u like it if ur kept in a cage 24/7 for the rest of ur life.
How do we know that the animal even realises it is in captivity? Today zoos try to imitate the animal's natural habitat so much that the exhibits seem more like a home than a cage.
Of course not all animals will adjust to having a territory many sizes smaller than its species requires. But there are many animals which will adapt and be quite comfortable in its new surroundings.
Think about it: animals need a territory which has fresh water, a good variety of adequate food and enough room to run around. The zoos in Australia seem to provide all of this in their enclosures as well as a mate (more often than not). If they have an environment which is suited to their needs and people which treat them properly, what more could they possibly desire?
I think yes and no. If animals are kept in confined spaces, not happy and not breeding with a low population animals shouldn’t be in zoo’s. But if animals are happy in zoo’s, on a breeding program and had a lot of room animals are then fine in zoo’s.
I think we should ban animals in zoos unless the animals are sick because they will survive better in the wild.
I believe that all animals should not be moved out of zoos and into the wild. It is crazy everyone enjoys going to the zoo.
I think that animals should stay in zoo's because when they get let out into where ever they go they might die because of starvation or they might get sick but if they are in zoo's they get feed well and if they get sick they can help the animals get better.
Yes, because they arn't meant to be in cages, they have to live in the wild its their nature, even if they are becoming extinc, thats just the the way it has to be.
I think people should ban the keeping of animals in zoos because it is cruel to the animals to be locked up in a cage.
I think free range zoo are ok but i think the other ones with the cages should be banned cuase how would you like it if you where in a cage all day?... and with the fee range zoo i think it be ok but what if they got out
i think that it is ok to keek them in zoos because it can help them from becoming indanged but they should make them biger.
I think the animals should not be in a small cage. I think the should make a huge zoo for each state and in the zoo is every think for every animal.
No, because they are so cute and they are g ood to look at. Kids love them if they were gone the kids would be really sad.
Why don't you think about for a minute? Sure the animals in the zoos are cute, but are they treated right? Some places yes, they are. But even they are treated correctly, put it in perspective. How would you like being kept in a cage or glass box until you die? How would you like not being able to have the satisfaction of catching your own food? You wouldn't. You wouldn't like it at all. So why treat animals that way? Sure some animals are better off in zoos, but if they are going to die anyways, why slow down that process? Theres no point in it. Another form of zoo is a traveling one, a circus. They treat the animals HORRIBLE to get them to do what they want. Would you want to be whipped and lashed everyday? I didn't think so. Leave the animals alone, the kids will recover!
Keeping animals in zoos is called ANIMAL CREALTY although the goverment sees it as "entertainment" and therefor do NOT arrest the zoo keepers and all zoo staff!!!!!
